Kane has been subject to harsh criticism after he blazed over his spot-kick against France in the Three Lions’ World Cup quarter-final defeat.
He had equalised against Les Bleus from the spot, but with his second attempt late into the match, he spurned a key chance to level the game up at 2-2.
It led some fans to question why he was even on penalty duty, despite his stunning record from 12 yards out having missed three out of his 20 penalties for England prior to his France miss.
But the Spurs supporters in attendance at the Gtech Community Stadium were fully behind their talismanic striker.
They sang in unison, ‘Harry Kane, he’s one of our own’, throughout the warm-up and before kick-off.
Kane had a great chance to open the scoring in the first Premier League game after the international break but saw a free-kick hit the wall.

Speaking on talkSPORT commentary about the missed effort, former Chelsea left-back Scott Minto warned Kane of trying to do too much.
He said: “Not surprised to see Harry Kane step up, one thing I would say, his mentality is so strong.
“I don’t worry about him bouncing back, but he just needs to make sure he doesn’t try to do too much on his own.
“Just try to play exactly how he would normally play because we know the mentality monster that he is, he will want to try and do everything.

“But at the moment, I’d say that Antonio Conte would be rather happy.”
Just seconds after his statement, Brentford took the lead against the run of play through Vitaly Janelt in the 15th minute.
The German midfielder had the simple task of tapping the ball home into the empty net after reacting quickest to Fraser Forster’s save from Mathias Jensen’s deflected volley.
