It’s Monday of a long weekend and while many have already enjoyed some kind of feast, others are gearing up for a special meal later today either for the first time or maybe even a second.
Whether preparing a special meal or working in the yard, if a need comes up some businesses in the community are open. For the second Monday in a row, there is no garbage or recycling pickup and all city and government offices are closed for the holiday. Here’s a rundown of a few places that may or may not be open.
Popular store hours for Thanksgiving Monday
Canadian Tire: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sobeys: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Homestead Co-op food stores: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Portage Gas Bars: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Shindleman Aquatic Centre and the Portage Regional Library: closed
Pharmasave and Hill’s Drug Store: closed
Mil-Jeanne Flowers, Rona Portage, Dino’s Appliance and Mattress Centre: closed
JS Furniture, and McMunn and Yates Building Supplies: closed
