Eid-ul-Adha or Bakra Eid is known as the festival of sacrifice. It is the second holiday celebrated in Islam. We celebrate this holiday to honour the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, Ismail as an act of showing his commitment to god. Before the sacrifice of Ismail could be done, Allah replaced the boy with a lamb, which is why to this day, lambs are sacrificed on Eid. It is all about giving back, spending time with family and being grateful for what we have. You don’t need to be Muslim in order to enjoy this day, Bakrid can be celebrated at any house.
