Wishes have been pouring in for India captain Virat Kohli who turned 32 on Thursday. From fans to fellow cricketers, quite a few have taken to social media to wish the modern-day legend. One common narrative in all those special messages has been ‘good luck’ messages for the IPL 2020 campaign.

A day after his 32nd birthday, Virat Kohli will lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator of IPL 2020 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi. It’s an all-important match for Kohli and RCB as they are bidding to end 12-year-long title drought.

RCB supporters will be hoping that the birthday brings luck to Virat Kohli and his men when they face a must-win situation on Friday at the Zayed Stadium.

Virat Kohli’s former RCB teammate and Kings XI Punjab star Chris Gayle took to social media to wish the ‘legend’ and send him some luck for the IPL 2020 play-offs.

“Happy birthday legend, @imVkohli …wish you many more KaKa! Bring it home for RCB,” Gayle said while posting a throwback photo from their RCB days.

Chris Gayle was part of Virat Kohli-led RCB when they last made it to the play-offs. In the 2016 IPL final, RCB took on Sunrisers Hyderabad, who posted 208 in 20 overs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In response, it was Gayle who led RCB’s chase with a stunning 38-ball 76, which included 8 sixes. But the effort was not enough as RCB lost by 8 runs.

It will be a repeat of 2016 final when the two teams meet in Abu Dhabi on Friday. While Sunrisers Hyderabad have headed into the play-offs on the back of a 3-match winning streak, Royal Challengers Bangalore are on a 4-match losing streak.

Virat Kohli will be keen on finding form and making a match-winning impact for RCB. Given the big match player that he is, don’t rule out a Kohli special in the Eliminator.
