Hagi on the right, Edmundson gets the nod – this is the team Rangers fans want to see vs Aberdeen
Edmundson #Edmundson
Ianis Hagi will play on the right and George Edmundson will get the nod at centre half ahead of Leon Balogun for Rangers’ trip to Pittodrie.
Well, that’s if the fans get their way.
Supporters have been naming their preferred starting XI for this afternoon’s league opener against Aberdeen, and there aren’t too many surprises in there.
Allan McGregor was the most popular choice in goals, of course, while fans opted for a back four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Edmundson and Borna Barisic. Arguably the only selection up for debate there was that of Edmundson, with Filip Helander and new signing Leon Balogun also in the frame for today’s fixture.
In midfield fans went for a trio of Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo. Again this is hardly surprising and you have to feel this midfield picks itself given the injury to Steven Davis.
In attacking positions Hagi was chosen to play out on the right with Ryan Kent on the left and the main man Alfredo Morelos through the middle.
The results came from an article posted on Glasgow Live in which we asked fans to name their preferred side for this afternoon’s clash.
You can find out exactly how Steven Gerrard sets his team out around an hour before kick off – so at 11.30am or thereabouts.
