Guardiola displeased with Anthony Taylor’s role in Man City’s 3-3 draw against Tottenham

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, voiced his dissatisfaction with fourth official Anthony Taylor in a sarcastic tone following the team’s 3-3 draw against Tottenham.

The discontent stemmed from referee Simon Hooper’s decision to halt play for a foul on Erling Haaland just as Jack Grealish advanced toward goal in the dying moments of the match.

Despite no offside flag being raised, Hooper opted to bring the play back for a foul on Haaland in the center of the park, disregarding the apparent scoring opportunity for Grealish.

When questioned about the decision, Guardiola, speaking to beIN Sports, remarked, “No, the master of commander Anthony Taylor knows everything in this business and didn’t tell me anything.”

These remarks followed Guardiola’s earlier statement to Sky Sports, where he indicated he wouldn’t make a “Mikel Arteta comment,” referencing the Arsenal manager’s recent outburst after a loss to Newcastle.

Guardiola emphasized his confusion over the referee’s actions, stating, “When you review image, referee whistle after saying play on and then after pass whistle. This is what I don’t understand action.”

“Good game is most important thing, pity as think Liverpool game and today incredible performance in all departments. Create a lot of chances, aggressive and feeling we want to be there.”
