Grizzlies vs. Lakers score: LeBron James, Los Angeles open with a historic quarter en route to 2-1 series lead

The Los Angeles Lakers have taken control of their first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies with a 111-101 victory in Game 3 on Saturday night. That pushes their series advantage to 2-1 and gives them a chance to take a 3-1 lead on Monday, when they play their second home game of the series. It all started with one of the best quarters in NBA history. The Lakers outscored the Grizzlies 35-9 in an explosive first quarter, and the Grizzlies never recovered.
Things got more tense after that. The Grizzlies made the game competitive in the second half led by Ja Morant, but the story of the night was the ejection of Grizzlies agitator Dillon Brooks. Just 17 seconds into the second half, Brooks hit James in the groin and received a flagrant-2 foul. Already shorthanded, the Grizzlies couldn’t recover. The Lakers held on, and now the pressure falls on the Grizzlies to respond Monday.
