Grassley and Johnson demand visitor logs for all Biden classified document locations

EXCLUSIVE — Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) are demanding that the Secret Service hand over a list containing the names of “all individuals” who have visited locations where classified documents have been found in connection to the scandal involving President Joe Biden.
The Secret Service is reportedly willing to provide Congress a list of names for visitors to Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, home, which, along with the Penn Biden Center think tank, has been where classified documents have been found from Biden’s vice presidency. Now, Grassley and Johnson are taking the agency up on that alleged willingness and requesting names to be sent by Feb. 2, according to a letter first obtained by the Washington Examiner.
“We write today relating to the discovery of ‘documents marked classified from Joe Biden’s vice presidency’ that have been found at multiple locations,” the senators wrote in their Monday letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. “Since July 30, 2021, we have raised concerns about whether then-Vice President Joe Biden stored and archived government records in compliance with federal records laws.”

“Accordingly, as part of our ongoing congressional investigation, we request that no later than February 2, 2023, the Secret Service provide a full and complete list of all individuals who entered the locations where classified records relating to then-Vice President Biden’s tenure have been identified,” the Republicans continued.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Jan. 12 appointed special counsel Robert Hur, a Trump Department of Justice appointee, to investigate Biden’s potential mishandling of the classified documents. DOJ officials found six additional classified documents on Friday at Biden’s Wilmington home during a 13-hour search for which the president and first lady Jill Biden were not present.
Grassley and Johnson’s latest request comes after they both wrote to then-White House counsel Dana Ann Remus in July 2021 and expressed alarm over Joe Biden reportedly using a private email for government use.
The elder Biden reportedly emailed government information to his son Hunter Biden, and the senators wanted to know what steps the government had taken to “ensure that those communications satisfy federal record-keeping and archival requirements.”
“After decades in Washington, Joe Biden certainly knows how classified information should be handled, but he arrogantly doesn’t believe the rules and laws apply to him,” Johnson told the Washington Examiner. “The public deserves a full accounting of individuals that may have had access to these classified records.”
“I hope the Secret Service will be transparent and cooperative as Sen. Grassley and I investigate Joe Biden’s mishandling of our nation’s top secrets,” he added.
Hunter Biden has been pictured behind the wheel of Joe Biden’s Corvette, which was parked in the garage of the Wilmington home that stored classified documents. The images came from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop and are further evidence that the younger Biden, who is under federal investigation and may soon face charges related to late tax filings and potentially fraudulent business expense deductions worth at least $30,000, had access to the records.
It is unclear whether Hunter Biden’s name would appear on the visitor logs sought by Grassley and Johnson.
The Hunter Biden-Corvette pictures were taken in 2017, around the time he was negotiating a business deal with CEFC, a now-defunct Chinese energy conglomerate affiliated with China’s government. CEFC paid $6 million in legal and consulting fees to Hunter Biden in 2017 and 2018, records show.
The White House has claimed that visitor logs do not exist for Joe Biden’s Wilmington home. However, the Secret Service reportedly collects information on guests who have regular access to the home, such as their criminal justice and law enforcement histories.

“Like every president in decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,” White House spokesman Ian Sams said last week. “But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them.”
A spokesman for the Secret Service declined to comment.
