The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable is likely to rely on Grand Promenade in the Banjo Paterson Series Final at Flemington.

Staying races at Flemington along with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable seem a perfect fit.

At the last three Flemington meetings, the Maher and Eustace stable has taken the three staying races on the program, all heats of the Banjo Paterson Series.

Heart Of Puissance got the ball rolling on May 22, followed up by Grand Promenade on June 5 and then South Pacific two weeks later.

All three strolled home and each was ridden by Melbourne’s leading rider this season Jamie Kah who sits on 96 winners in her bid to become the first jockey to crack the 100 wins in a season.

Heart Of Puissance, Grand Promenade and South Pacific are all eligible for the Banjo Paterson Series Final (2600m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Grand Promenade and South Pacific have been nominated, along with Chaska, an acceptor at Sandown on Wednesday, however, Eustace indicated only Grand Promenade would contest the race with South Pacific to be saved for the Flemington Cup 1849 Cup (2800m) on July 17.

Grand Promenade has been in consistent form.

He was successful at Sandown on May 1, finished second in the Melbourne Cup qualifier behind Realm Of Flowers in the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes before his four-length win over 2520m on June 5.

Eustace is looking forward to Saturday’s final with Grand Promenade.

“He’ll be four weeks between runs which shouldn’t worry him at all,” Eustace said.

“He’s in good form and we’ve just had him ticking over nicely at home.”

Eustace said he was looking forward to seeing Saunter Boy back over jumps at Warrnambool on Sunday in the Kevin Lafferty Hurdle (3200m).

Saunter Boy finished second to South Pacific at Flemington on June 19 at his first outing since winning the Australian Hurdle (3900m) at Sandown on May 23.
