Grand … Ham! Rafael Nadal joins Steph Curry in new Subway sandwich ad

Nadal #Nadal

Talk about a grand … ham. Rafael Nadal has teamed up with basketball star Stephen Curry in a new ad for Subway sandwiches.

While Nadal has been off the court since the Australian Open, tennis fans might’ve noticed him on their screens in recent weeks as he’s partnered with the NBA MVP in a spot promoting the Grand Slam Ham, one of its newest deli-style sandwiches.

The sub is an offering in the chain’s new Deli Heroes line, which, according to a press release is, “a collection of subs that showcases the brand’s new freshly-sliced meats … that can be ordered by name and number.” The Grand Slam Ham features ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and mayonnaise, on freshly-baked Italian bread.

Befitting the loaded sandwich, Curry and Nadal’s 15-second advertisement is jam-packed … with puns.

“Subway refreshed everything, and now, they’re slicing their meats fresh,” Curry says. “That’s why this pro prefers the new Grand Slam ham.”

After the camera cuts to Nadal on the court, the Spaniard adds: “So does this pro. I just love a Grand Slam … ham.”

“This slice as good as your tennis slice?” Curry later queries.

“I can’t say that but yes,” Nadal responds.
