Grammys: How to Watch the Premiere Ceremony Hosted by Jhene Aiko

The 2021 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, the annual event that precedes the evening Grammys ceremony and hands out the first awards of the day, is set to take place Sunday afternoon with a host of musical talent.

With 2021 nominated artist and three-time Grammy nominee Jhené Aiko hosting, the ceremony will kick off at 12 p.m. PT and be streamed live at Grammy.com. Over 70 awards will be handed out at the afternoon event, including best gospel album, best contemporary Christian music album, best score soundtrack for visual media, best spoken word album and best musical theater album, among other categories.

This year’s Premiere Ceremony will feature performances from 2021 nominees including Rufus Wainwright, Lido Pimienta, Poppy, Burna Boy, Igor Levit, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science. Additionally, an ensemble including the Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, Thana Alexa, John Beasley, Camilo, Regina Carter, Alexandre Desplat, Bebel Gilberto, Lupita Infante, Sarah Jarosz, Mykal Kilgore, Ledisi, Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez, PJ Morton, Gregory Porter, Grace Potter, säje, Gustavo Santaolalla (Bajofondo), Anoushka Shankar and Kamasi Washington will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)” with an opening tribute performance. Among the day’s presenters will be 2021 nominees Lupita Infante, Bill Burr, Chika and Aiko as well as former Recording Academy chair Jimmy Jam.

Hosted by Trevor Noah from the Los Angeles Convention Center, the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards following the Premiere Ceremony will broadcast live starting at 5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+.
