Graeme Souness criticised Paul Pogba’s lack of awareness as Manchester United fell to a home defeat to Liverpool.
United took the lead through Bruno Fernandes after 10 minutes – with his strike diverted into the back of the Liverpool net by Nat Phillips.
Diogo Jota levelled for the visitors before Roberto Firmino darted in at the far post to power home a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold just before half-time.
Replays suggested it was Pogba who was meant to be marking the Brazilian, losing his man at the vital moment with Souness concluding United fans will have been left ‘raging’ with his efforts.
‘It just doesn’t get any better, he has a wand of a right foot, Trent Alexander Arnold’ Souness told Sky Sports at half-time.

‘You have to say, Paul Pogba, at no time is he aware of where Firmino is, how he ends up on his backside I don’t know.
‘If you are Manchester United, you will be raging with that goal.’
Firmino added a second early in the second-half as Liverpool extended their lead at half-time.
