No wonder West Ham fans were so angry about Grady Diangana being sold!

Hammers supporters and players alike kicked up a right fuss when their academy product was sold to West Brom for £18million earlier this summer.

The 20-year-old was one of the Championship’s standout stars on loan with the Baggies last season and captain Mark Noble was one of many to criticise the club’s decision to sell.

Well, they were right.

Diangana showed his talent with a stunning goal for West Brom at Everton on Saturday, charging from his own half before fizzing one past Jordan Pickford.

West Ham supporters would’ve been watching in disgust as the England youth international burst onto the scene in the Premier League.

However, talkSPORT host Jim White has insisted the Hammers were forced to sell Diangana to fund other business.

“A source close to the owners last night were in touch with me,” White said. “In their defence, the source tells me there are eight or so players who can play on the wing, including Grady Diangana.

“Grady Diangana was the only one they have an offer for and the manager is desperate to strengthen the defence.

“The owners were not willing sellers but they felt they had no alternative here.”`

We’re not sure West Ham fans will see it that way.
