Gracie Hunt recently spent time in Hawaii during the offseason and expressed her support for Maui and Lahaina in the wake of the devastating wildfires that impacted the island. In a move that aimed to capture attention and promote assistance, she posted a photo of herself in a bikini along with a heartfelt message, urging her followers to lend a helping hand.

Although she didn’t go as far as promising explicit content to those who donate, the Chiefs heiress did intend for her post to make an impact, and indeed, it caught people’s attention.

In her message, Gracie shared: “I am heartbroken by the devastating images coming out of Maui and Lahaina over the last week. Hawaii is a national treasure, made better by the amazing heart of the Hawaiian people.”

Continuing, she said: “Join me in prayer for the people of Hawaii, and the families that have lost loved ones, homes and more, and for those on the front lines working tirelessly to make a difference. The resilience of the Hawaiian people is legendary, but this tragedy will take time and resources to rebuild from.”

She also provided avenues for support, suggesting: “Here’s a way you can help if you can, among other organizations bringing help and hope: WorldVision.org or SamaritansPurse.org.”

Gracie’s chosen method of delivery, however, received mixed reactions. While many appreciated her efforts, some questioned the use of a bikini photo alongside a message about the Maui wildfires.

One commenter took it a step further, raising doubts about asking for donations while sharing a bikini picture. Gracie didn’t shy away from addressing this particular comment. She responded: “I’d never ask someone to donate to a cause that I haven’t supported myself.”

It seems she’s confident in her approach and stands by her decision to use a bikini photo as a means to spread awareness and garner support. After all, her intention is to make a positive impact and assist those in need, regardless of the method she employs to achieve that goal.
