Australian of the Year Grace Tame is “convoluting” Assistant Minister for Women Amanda Stoker’s support of Bettina Ardnt’s university campus tour, according to Sky News contributor Liz Storer.
Ms Tame lashed the prime minister’s appointment of Ms Stoker and claimed she had undermined accounts of abuse by supporting Bettina Ardnt’s campus tour which sought to highlight the need for due process in rape cases.
The assistant minister for women refuted these claims and called them “not informed” pointing to her work on sexual violence as a prosecutor, and how she raised Ms Arndt during Senate Estimates to highlight the universities’ “inconsistent approaches to free speech and de-platforming”.

“Ms Tame’s comments are passionate but not informed and they do not correspond with my longer history of work in this area, of which Ms Tame must be unaware,” Ms Stoker said.
Ms Storer told Sky News host Cory Bernardi this is a case of Grace Tame “being misinformed”.
“That’s not an insult. That is a sheer statement of fact if you just look at who Stoker is and her track record – stellar track record – on these issues,” she said.
“If Tame were to sit down with Stoker, I have absolutely no doubt both of them would find that they don’t disagree on much at all.”
