RICHARD Madeley left the first British-Palestinian MP open-mouthed in shock during an exchange on Good Morning Britain.

Viewers have demanded the presenter is “pulled off air” for asking if she knew about the terror attack on Israel last week BEFORE it happened.

Richard asked Layla Moran, Lib Dem MP for Oxford West & Abingdon: “With your family connections in Gaza, did you have any indication of what was going to happen ten days ago, two weeks ago?

“Was there there any word on the street?”

“Not this, not this”, the stunned MP replied.

“Everyone, everyone has been surprised first of all by the timing and sophistication and they way that it’s happened.

“What I will say is that I’ve been warning, and others have in Parliament as well for a number of years now, that if we don’t find a way… People say ‘go back to the negotiating table’. The fact of the matter is there has not been a table, let alone to go back to a negotiating table for at least ten years.

“This is a cycle of violence. My worry now is that this is radicalising another generation on all sides.

“We have to stop this hatred. We have to bring people together and find a way through.

“Peace is harder than war. It’s harder.”

Hundreds were killed and dozens taken hostage when Hamas gunmen burst across the border on paragliders and motorbikes on October 7.

Hamas terrorists armed with guns, grenades and knives killed entire families in their beds.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas had beheaded soldiers, raped women, shot children in the head and burned people alive during their horror attacks on Israel.

Some 40 babies and kids were killed – some beheaded – in one town.

Richard’s question caused some offended viewers to complain online.

One said: “Absolutely disgusting from #GMB and Richard Madeley. He should apologize immediately and be pulled off the air. Solidarity with Layla Moran.

“It’s a tough time to be Arab, even tougher to be Palestinian with the stereotypes being thrown about.”

Another added: “Such an appalling, indefensible question fromRichard Madeley. How on earth would Layla Moran know what Hamas was planning?

“The Israeli intelligence services claim they didn’t even know!

“Good Morning Britain please sack Richard Madeley.”

Someone else replied: “I’ve seen Richard Madeley ask some insensitive questions but this?”

Another added: “Richard Madeley ask some questions at times.

“How was she supposed to know what the terrorist was going to do? Dumb question.”

“Richard Madeley asks the dumbest questions at times,” said someone else.

Another added: “Ergh! I really don’t have the tolerance for Richard ‘collateral damage’ Madeley this morning. Whenever there are serious events in the news, Madeley should be kept far, far away from the GMB studio.”

Fellow MP Florence Eshalomi said: “I just saw the clip from @GMB interviews this morning.

“Richard Madeley is actually disgraceful. I was in the chamber yesterday but sadly I didn’t get an opportunity to speak in the statement.”

The Labour & Co-op MP added: “Solidarity with @LaylaMoran for having to endure this racist line of questioning.”

Layla became the first British-Palestinian MP when she was elected in 2017 and has family stranded in a church in Gaza City.

The politician says her family have “no food and no water” and “have nowhere to go”.

She added: “I don’t believe that it is right that my family are being held accountable for what Hamas has done.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak gave a statement to the House of Commons on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

And standing up in the House of Commons, the MP said of her family: “Their house was bombed by the IDF (Israel Defence Forces). They went to seek sanctuary in a church because we’re Christian Palestinians, and I’m afraid they are still there because they are too old to go, and they say to me that they have nowhere to go.

“Because of this, not despite it, I attended a vigil in Oxford organised by the Jewish community, because it is between our communities that we now share profound emotions – loss and grief.”
