Gio would rather see Joe Flacco over Zach Wilson on Thursday

Mike White is not an option for Thursday night’s pivotal Jets game, meaning Zach Wilson will once again be under center with the team’s slim playoff hopes hanging in the balance.
If Gang Green wanted to maximize their chances of getting a win on Thursday and keeping their playoff hopes alive, Gio says Robert Saleh should turn to Joe Flacco.
“I didn’t want to see Flacco in the beginning of the year…the way Zach has played, I would rather see Joe Flacco play on Thursday night,” Gio said. “I’m telling you right now I would.”
Flacco looked dreadful in his brief moments filling in for the banged-up White against the Bills in Week 14, though he did help New York to a couple of big wins to start the season while Wilson was hurt. Many felt Flacco’s flop in Buffalo was confirmation that he doesn’t have what it takes to succeed in the NFL anymore, but Gio says the aging veteran beats the current, youthful alternative.
“I don’t want to see Zach Wilson sailing the ball over everyone else’s head,” Gio said. “I don’t want to see him throwing the ball into the ground to receivers that are down the line of scrimmage, I don’t want to see him with this complete, 15-year-old, ‘I don’t know what the hell I’m doing’ look anymore.
“If the Jets want to make the playoffs, the better quarterback to have in that situation would be Joe Flacco.”
