Former ‘The Mandalorian” star and MMA fighter Gina Carano threw shade at Susan Sarandon on Saturday for literally using the same quote that got Carano canceled, as Carano’s fans complained on social media and wondered why Sarandon didn’t get the same treatment.

Carano was dropped from “The Mandalorian” last year after the actress posted comments on social media comparing being Republican today to being Jewish in Nazi Germany. Lucasfilm called the comments “abhorrent” and the former MMA fighter, who played Cara Dune on the series for the first two seasons of the hit Disney+ show, was dropped from the “Star Wars” franchise going forward.

Earlier this week, Sarandon posted an image fo the following quote on her Twitter account, “It didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One party deciding what is truth. One party censoring speech and silencing opposition. One party dividing citizens into ‘us’ and ‘them’ and calling on their supporters to harass ‘them.’ It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.”

Carano’s previous comments, meanwhile, said, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”

On Saturday, Carano finally joined the chorus of complaints and posted a response on Twitter with a meme from the film “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.”

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” said a Lucasfilm spokesperson last year in a statement to TheWrap.
