Gilford, NH named one of the best places in the US to buy a lake house

A New England community is among the best to own a lake house, according to Evolve.
The website compiled a list of the the 12 best places to buy a lake house in 2023 with locations across the country. Gilford, New Hampshire, earned itself a spot on the list.
“When exploring its banks as a lake house investor, Gilford is the town most worth a look. Classic lake fun is what’s on the menu, from cruises and jet skiing to summer fireworks reflecting off the shoreline,” the website wrote.
The town also has attractions like an 8,000-seat amphitheater for summer concerts, Gunstock Mountain Resort, breweries and museums, it added.
Median list prices are about $518,000 in Gilford, which is on the pricier side of the lake homes on Evolve’s list. However, the website says many homes around this price point are right on the water with stunning lake views.
This “naturally translates to strong traveler demand and owner profits,” it said.
The median rental revenue for lake homes in Gilford is $29,533.
Other areas across the country that made the list for the best places to buy a lake house in 2023 are Saranac Lake, New York, Traverse City, Michigan and Norris Lake, Tennessee, to name a few.
