Gigi Hadid’s Dad May Have Inadvertently Revealed Baby Zigi’s Birth

Every member of the Hadid dynasty is great in their own way, but, for sheer entertainment value, no one competes with patriarch Mohamed – the Tina Knowles to Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid’s Beyoncé and Solange. 

If you have yet to watch the real estate mogul/supermodel stud’s IGTV videos of himself whipping up traditional Palestinian dishes over the last few months, do so at once. There’s a reason that Gigi and Bella are so at home in the kitchen. Even Anwar and Dua Lipa have been trying out some of the za’atar enthusiast’s recipes. “Yesterday we made lamb maeloubah – Anwar’s dad sent us the recipe,” Dua told British Vogue in the August 2020 issue. “It was fun to cook together, which is lucky because it was a three-hour activity; it’s the most ambitious thing I have ever set out to make.”

Now, Mohamed’s giving the people what they want once more: some indication that baby Zigi has arrived by sharing a poem that he wrote for his grandchild in a since-deleted Instagram post. “Hello little grandchild, it is me, my heart as happy as can be,” read a note written in a truly majestic script. “I wish for you the sun and moon, I wish for you a happy time. Know that grandpa’s always here, I’ll do anything, anything for you, my dear. When I heard you were on the way, I smiled and wiped a tear away. I cried the tear because I knew: my heart would always belong to you.” Absolute Renaissance man.

While Gigi and Zayn have yet to confirm the birth, it seems likely that the genetically blessed parents are, in fact, enjoying their first days with little Zigi in privacy. For her part, Auntie Bella has been getting all sorts of nostalgic, sharing a throwback image with Gigi from mother Yolanda’s Pennsylvania farm in June. “Two buns in the oven, except mine is from my burger and Gigi’s is from Zayn,” she captioned the post. “I love you both so freaking much – can’t stop crying.” Now to see if she can find some vintage ’90s baby-clothes.
