The New York Giants defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 31-24, in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon. It marks their first playoff win for the franchise since their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots.
The game was a shootout from the get-go as both sides displayed offensive firepower. However, Brian Daboll and his troops would get the last lick as a Saquon Barkley touchdown would seal the deal for New York.
And while Barkley played a phenomenal game on Sunday, Daniel Jones was simply unstoppable. In his first-ever playoff start, Jones passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns with a 114.1 passer rating. He added 78 yards on the ground as he constantly extended plays and gave Big Blue an extra facet in the run game.
Most importantly, Jones came away with the win.
The Duke product has had doubters his whole career but is having a record season and put the icing on top with a playoff win. It is now time for Jones to do it again next week against the Philidelphia Eagles.
