Giants training camp takeaways: An early scare and a cornerback challenge Wink Martindale wants to see

The Giants held their 18th practice of training camp Wednesday afternoon and it started with a scare when veteran tight end Tommy Sweeney was carted off the field with what the team later described as “a medical event.”

After practice ended, the Giants said that Sweeney was “under the care of medical professionals in the Giants’ athletic training room,” and that “he is stable, alert and conversant.”
