Giants make change at cornerback with Tre Hawkins being benched

The Giants knew they were taking a risk by opening the season with two rookies starting at cornerback and now they have decided two is one too many with sixth-round pick Tre Hawkins the odd-man out.

Hawkins had been working outside opposite fellow rookie Deonte Banks, the team’s first-round pick, with veteran Adoree’ Jackson moving to slot in the Giants’ nickel package.
