EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants took control Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts when safety Landon Collins intercepted a Nick Foles pass late in the first half and returned it 52 yards for a touchdown.
It was the first interception return for a touchdown this season for the Giants and put them up 21-3 with 1 minute, 45 seconds left in the second quarter. It was Collins’ first touchdown since 2016, which was during his first stint with the Giants. That also happens to be the same season New York last made the playoffs.
The Giants can clinch a playoff spot Sunday with a win over the Colts.
Foles dropped back to pass on the third-and-11 play from the Indianapolis 46-yard line. He stared to his right and fired a pass to the flat.
Collins saw it coming and darted in front of wide receiver Parris Campbell. Collins grabbed the pass and raced down the left sideline for the score.
It was Collins’ first interception this season — and just the second touchdown of his career — and was Foles’ first pick-six thrown since Week 12 of the 2015 season.
