The Milwaukee Bucks are not taking any chances with their injured superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to a report by Tim Bontemps, the two-time MVP will be undergoing further testing on his injured wrist in order to determine the full extent of the damage. Giannis sprained his wrist in the second quarter of the Bucks’ 112-100 win over the Chicago Bulls right before the All-Star break.

Flying to New York for more tests

Bontemps revealed that the Greek Freak would fly to New York to undergo more tests on his sprained wrist. This latest injury is one of several Giannis has faced this season. He previously sat out for an extended period due to a sore knee. Upon his return, he helped the Bucks turn into the hottest team in the entire Association, winning 12 straight games to date.

After the game against the Bulls, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer downplayed the injury, saying it might be a day-to-day thing.

“We’ll just see how he feels tomorrow, see how he feels the next few days and continue to evaluate it,” Budenholzer said.

Barely played in the All-Star Game

However, the injury was apparently serious enough to keep Giannis from playing his usual load of minutes in the 2023 All-Star Game. He started the game, scored on a soft two-handed slam, and then fouled Luka Doncic not long after to sub himself out of the game for good.

Despite his absence on the court, Giannis was still masterful as captain of Team Giannis. Aside from drafting eventual All-Star Game MVP Jayson Tatum, who scored 55 points, he was instrumental in motivating his teammates and helping them sustain leads throughout the game.
