Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James and the best bets for Wednesday’s ESPN doubleheader

Welcome to Bet For The Win’s Nightly NBA Player Props. Throughout the 2022-23 season, we look at some of the night’s biggest games and come up with bets to make as we predict how players might perform.

It’s simple — if we like where the player’s line is set, we take the over, otherwise, we take the under.

Season Record: 2-3

Welcome to the second week of the NBA season. As part of Wednesday’s 10-game slate, we’ll focus in on the two national television games so that the non-NBA League Pass viewers can follow their bets more easily.

Here are the best player props to wager on during Wednesday’s Nets-Bucks and Lakers-Nuggets matchups.

Nikola Jokic is a man of many basketball talents — enough to make him a two-time NBA MVP. You name it, and he probably does it exceptionally well.

One of the unique traits he possesses on the offensive end of the court is his ability to shoot from deep. He’s a career 34.6 percent 3-point shooter on 1.0 makes per game and has made one three in all but one of Denver’s four games on the season.

With an over/under set at 0.5 makes, you’d be a fool not to take the over.

You may know Jrue Holiday as one of the NBA’s greatest on-ball defenders (which he certainly is), but don’t let that blind you from what he brings on the offensive end.

Sure, Holiday is inefficient from time to time with his shot. But he’s consistently a really solid playmaker. He’s recorded at least eight assists in both of Milwaukee’s games during this 2022-23 season, and he’ll continue to be one of the driving forces of the offense so long as Khris Middleton remains on the sideline with an injury.

Take the over 7.5 assists against the Nets.

LeBron averaged 30.3 points per game last season, becoming the oldest player in league history to average at least 30.0. He’s already got a couple of 30-pieces under his belt early in this season, and it’s really not out of the question to assume that he’ll do it again on Wednesday night.

James really shouldn’t have to put up these types of numbers at this stage of his career. But the construction of the team around him kind of forces him to. Expect LeBron to go all out to help his team avoid dropping to 0-4.

Grabbing over 13 rebounds is a lot to ask of one man! Giannis hasn’t reached those heights yet in this season, but he’s been close (12 and 13 rebounds). But he might on Wednesday night against the Nets, who are currently averaging the second-fewest rebounds per game in the NBA.

It may sound like a long shot, but this specific over looks like a good way to come up on some extra change.
