Garrett Wilson ‘out of words’ after Jets’ terrible offensive performance

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson entered the season expecting to catch passes from four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, with the team competing for a Super Bowl appearance.

Instead, Rodgers got injured minutes into the season, backup quarterback Zach Wilson struggled then got benched, and the Jets offense hit absolute rock bottom in an ugly 34-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins Friday.

Don’t be fooled by the score, as six of the Jets points came on a pick-six.

So Wilson bravely faced reporters after the game, trying to answer questions that could not be answered. Obviously, if the Jets had an answer to their offensive dumpster fire, they would fix the problem.

So Wilson just said what many Jets players and fans probably feel at this point.

“I don’t know what to tell y’all,” he said. “I don’t know what to tell the fans. … I’m out of [words]. I’m out. I’m out. I can’t think of anything and I wish I could.

“We want to get this thing rolling, we’re going to keep grinding, we’re going to keep doing it. But as far as giving you all a soundbite, or something to keep the faith — I’m not even going to try this week.”

“I don’t know what to tell the fans. I don’t know what they would want to hear. I’m out. I can’t think of anything and I wish I could, man.”

That’s an appropriate response, given the Jets’ woes Friday. The Jets had only 159 yards of total offense, and most of those came in garbage time. Quarterback Tim Boyle did not complete his first pass on third down until midway through the fourth quarter.

Jets fans felt Wilson’s pain and frustration.

Where he goes I go🤷‍♂️ best player jets have drafted since Revis and has to deal with this trash franchise, won’t blame him for requesting a trade

They need to clean house in the front office and the coaching staff. Can’t continue.

dont blame him,he putting in all that work to play with players like Z.Wilson/T.Boyle throwing him the ball,I would want to go to a real offense with a real QB and a team that knows how value the position is and not just trout out anyone cause that’s what we did after ARs injury
