Gabriel Davis active for Bills in AFC Championship game; Sammy Watkins out for Chiefs
Bills #Bills
Kansas City, Mo. — Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Gabriel Davis has been a question mark all week as he’s dealt with an ankle injury he suffered last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bills installed their emergency plan by elevating Kenny Stills off the practice squad in case Davis couldn’t go. But Buffalo won’t need the former Houston Texans receiver after all.
Davis is active and will play against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game tonight. Defensive tackle Vernon Butler is also active after he dealt with a quad injury all week, missing a few practices before being limited on Friday. He went through a pregame workout and looks to be good to go.
Defensive end Trent Murphy was activated last week and played well against the Baltimore Ravens, but his services won’t be needed today. He headlines the Bills’ list of inactive players: tight end Tyler Kroft, cornerback Dane Jackson, linebacker Tyrel Dodson, offensive lineman Jordan Devey, and Stills.
The Chiefs offense will be without two big names, announcing that former Bills receiver Sammy Watkins won’t be able to go because of a calf injury. Running back Le’veon Bell is also inactive because of a knee injury.
Watkins didn’t play against the Bills in Week 6 because he was dealing with a hamstring injury. The rest of the Chiefs inactives: linebacker Willie Gay, offensive lineman Yasir Durant, defensive end Tim Ward, and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders.
