Fulham head coach Marco Silva has confirmed that Tim Ream is likely to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his arm in the defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
USMNT international Ream appeared to land awkwardly following a collision with City forward Julian Alvarez and was forced to leave the field at Craven Cottage after 22 minutes, with his arm in a makeshift sling.
Midfielder Andreas Pereira was also forced to withdraw in the second half, and Silva confirmed that both players are in hospital receiving treatment with what look like “serious” injuries.
Silva said: “Tim Ream is probably not playing no more this season, he has broken his arm, let’s hope Andreas Periera is not so serious. This is the worst thing, without Mitrovic, with a short squad like us, it is really tough to take.”
On Periera’s injury, Silva added: “When he lands he felt something, maybe the ankle, we have to wait a little more.”
Ream has been one of Fulham’s most important players this season and has excelled at the back for Silva’s side.
The 35-year-old, who has also been Fulham’s captain for much of the campaign, has played in all of their 33 matches in the league this season.
Pereira, meanwhile, has also impressed since signing for the west London club from Manchester United in the summer transfer window last year. He has scored five and assisted six times across all competitions this season.
Fulham are 10th in the Premier League with five matches left to play.
