Frost & AM freezing fog Tuesday, Sun & mild 50s for the afternoon
Good Tuesday #GoodTuesday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Tuesday morning. We are waking up to widespread frost and chilly temperatures in the 20s early this morning.
Areas of patchy to locally dense fog and freezing fog have developed overnight and may make your morning drive to work and school a bit more difficult. Roads near bodies of water and along the Tennessee River are most likely to see the poorest visibility. Once we get through the morning fog and cold, it will turn out to be a pretty nice day here in late January with the sunshine boosting our high temperatures in the upper 50s to even lower 60s. A steady and breezy southwest wind will occasionally gust over 20 miles per hour.
A weak clipper system will sweep through later this evening and can bring a few isolated rain showers across the Tennessee Valley. Skies will remain cloudy overnight keeping our low temperatures a touch warmer in the middle 30s by daybreak Wednesday. Wednesday should bring a mix of sun and clouds with a breezy northwest wind keeping things cool in the middle to upper 40s. Thursday and Friday are fairly similar days with some sunshine and highs in the 50s to lower 60s.
Saturday will usher in more cloud cover with highs on the warmer side in the lower 60s. Rain showers will start to move in from the west late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunday’s rainfall looks to be fairly widespread through the day with gusty winds and cooler temperatures in the lower 50s.
