Freedman’s speedy stars set for The Valley

Anthony and Sam Freedman will send two of their promising two-year old’s to Moonee Valley this Saturday for the end of season fixture.

Speedy colt Prado will resume in the Luna Hand Care Handicap in what will be his first start since he was beaten at Bendigo on debut at $1.40.

“He’s a horse we’ve always had a good opinion of,” Sam Freedman said.

“He went to his maiden and just got it all wrong, he was too keen and didn’t relax, overdid it and didn’t really finish off.

“We gave him a break, we’ve tried to restrain him in his trials, and he’s just got too much speed, so we thought, 955m, if something wants to lead him, they can, but he’s got pretty good speed and he should be able to be very competitive.”

Prado is at $6.50 with Sportsbet for the second race at Moonee Valley.

In the following event, stakes winning filly Bistro makes her return to the track as she eyes off further feature race success this spring.

The daughter of Street Boss has won two of her four starts, including the Listed Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville.

“Bistro’s just had the one trial, she’s heading in nice and fresh and using it as a first up run to then head towards a race like the Quezette (Stakes),” Freedman said.

“She’s got very good speed and seems to have come back very well.

Bistro is rated as a $3.60 chance by Sportsbet for the Ladbrokes Mates Mode Handicap.

The Freedman stable will also have Set To Prophet shooting for his third successive win in race seven and Benalla and Werribee Cups winner Starcaster kicking off his preparation in race eight.
