BET Digital’s 106&Park Mic Check checked in with Fredo Bang, the budding rap star from Baton Rouge. Fredo has been bubbling up for a minute before gaining traction with his “Oouh” in 2018. Building on his momentum, he dropped a mixtape, Big Ape, in 2019 which was well-received, capping the year off by signing to Def Jam. He wasted no time — dropping new music in April. His latest studio effort holds 12 tracks and he provocatively declares himself Most Hated, a follow-up to 2019’s Pain Made Me Numb.

“They always say [people] gon’ hate you before they love you. So I was like let me use reverse psychology, call it most hated, and I’mma be the most loved, you know what I’m saying?” the 24-year-old explained. He’s already gearing up to release his next project, In The Name of Gee, titled after his late friend and brother-in-rhyme Gee Money who was killed in 2017.

Ahead of his forthcoming project, Tha Bang Man checked in with his fans from quarantine inside his at-home studio where he answered a handful of his fan’s questions. The artist broke down some of his favorite tattoos, writing his first song when he was 11-years-old — “some freaky s**t” — and the best industry advice he ever received.
