Fowler on target but Australia lose to Canada

Mary Fowler found the net for Australia but couldn’t prevent the Matildas from falling to defeat against Canada in an international friendly.
The City youngster opened the scoring inside three minutes at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium after being set up by Chelsea forward Sam Kerr.
However, the visitors equalised soon after the restart through Adriana Leon.
And the Manchester United forward completed her brace and the turnaround 15 minutes later after linking up with Jade Rose.

Despite Fowler and co.’s best efforts, Australia were unable to claw their way back into the game, eventually being edged out 2-1 by the Canadians.
It means that the visitors have come out on top in each of their international friendlies over the recent break, having won the first of their two-match series by a single goal on Saturday.
