Four People Hospitalized in Crash on State Route 12 Outside of Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – Four people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on State Route 12 approximately 7 miles outside of Walla Walla city limits. Of those injured, two were residents of Uniontown, WA.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) was notified of the incident at 3:25 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
According to an incident report from the WSP, a black 2011 GMC Terrain was traveling westbound on SR12 when the driver crossed the center line and struck a 2016 Subaru Forester that was traveling eastbound.
Both occupants of the GMC Terrain, 30-year-old David Caillier (driver), of Stockholm, SD, and 59-year-old Mitchell Powers (passenger), of Walla Walla, were transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. Neither were wearing their seatbelt according to the WSP incident report.
The driver of the Subaru, 28-year-old Timothy Fitzgibbons, of Uniontown, was also transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center with injuries. Meanwhile the passenger of the Subaru, 28-year-old Kerry Fitzgibbons, also of Uniontown, was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Both were reportedly wearing their seatbelts.
According to the WSP, potential charges against Caillier are pending.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The incident report states that drugs or alcohol were not a factor.
