Former Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber signing with Yankees

Jan. 15 (UPI) — Former Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers pitcher Corey Kluber agreed to a short-term contract with the New York Yankees on Friday.
League sources told ESPN and MLB Media that Kluber and the Yankees are finalizing a one-year, $11 million deal that would bring the two-time American League Cy Young Award winner to New York. The club has yet to confirm the agreement, which is pending a physical.
The 34-year-old Kluber spent the first nine seasons of his major league career with the Indians before being traded to the Rangers last off-season. His first year with the Rangers came to an abrupt halt after he tore a muscle in his right shoulder just 18 pitches into his only start for the club in 2020.
Texas then declined to pick up his $18 million option for the 2021 campaign, making him a free agent.
Kluber won his first Cy Young Award in 2014, when he posted an 18-9 record. He captured his second award in 2017 after going 18-4 and leading the AL with a 2.25 ERA.
The three-time All-Star selection has compiled a 98-58 record and 3.16 ERA in 209 games (204 starts) over his 10 MLB seasons.
