According to its website, Cinnabon was opened in 1985 in a Seattle, Washington, mall. Since then, the menu has grown and expanded with locations opening in more than 50 countries.
In addition to store locations, Cinnabon products are also sold in grocery stores.
TikToker @alex_missael1’s video was posted in response to one shared by @itsemmyp. In @itsemmyp’s video, a woman pointed out the exact cinnamon roll she wanted to buy, saying she wanted it to be “fresh.”
“There’s three things you all should know about Cinnabon,”@alex_missael1 said as they started their own video.
In their video, @alex_missael1 said customers who get to an establishment early in the morning likely won’t get a fresh roll.
“First of all, the rolls they are serving right when they open, they’re probably from one of the boxes that they sell to-go,” they said.
The second point that @alex_missael1 discussed was the “Center of the Roll” menu item.
“That’s not the center of the roll,” they said. “That’s literally a bunch of old f**king Cinnabon that are chopped up, put in a cup with more icing on the top. You just put that b**ch in the microwave for 30 seconds, that’s the ‘Center of the Roll.'”
The third thing @alex_missael1 shared that they noticed is that a customer who will order the unhealthiest item on the menu will also order a Diet Coke.
Viewers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on what @alex_missael1 discussed, particularly the third point.
“Some people are diabetics that can indulge in sweets as long as they take the correct amount of insulin, but prefer diet soda in order to save carbs,” a viewer wrote.
“I literally order Cinnabon’s with a Diet Coke,” another viewer said. “The drink is for me and the cinnamon rolls are for my kids.”
One said that they preferred the taste of Diet Coke, while another was surprised someone would order a sweet drink to accompany their food.
“My teeth hurt just thinking about it,” they wrote. “I get a black coffee with mine to balance the sweetness.”
Other viewers who said they’ve worked for Cinnabon weighed in as well.
“I used to work at a truck stop with a stand alone Cinnabon and can confirm lol,” one viewer wrote.
“I used to work there and can confirm for the [Center of the Roll] lol but the other [they] listed, I think it depends on the location,” another viewer wrote.
A viewer who said they worked for Cinnabon said the location they worked at made rolls fresh each day but said the other points @alex_missael1 made were true.
Newsweek reached out to @alex_missael1 and Cinnabon for comment.
