Former Browns ST coach Chris Tabor named interim head coach of Panthers

Former Cleveland Browns special teams coordinator Chris Tabor is now the head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
Tabor, who coached the Browns special teams from 2011-2017, took over after Panthers owner David Tepper fired Frank Reich after only 11 games this season.
Tabor is used to turmoil at the top. He endured a myriad of head coaching changes during his tenure with the Browns: from Pat Shurmur to Rob Chudzinski to Mike Pettine to Hugh Jackson. Tabor left the Browns in 2018 to coach special teams on the Chicago Bears from 2019-2022 before he joined Reich’s staff in Carolina.
Now, after almost 15 seasons as an assistant coach or coordinator, Tabor will get his shot as a head coach for the final six games of the regular season.
