‘Forever and always’: Vanessa Bryant posts beautiful tributes to her daughter Gigi on what would have been her 17th birthday… three years on from her and Kobe’s shock death

  • The late Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, has posted a touching tribute to their daughter Gigi on what would have been her 17th birthday. 

    Gigi died alongside her father in the tragic helicopter accident in which nine people were killed while flying over Calabasas, CA. on January 26, 2020.

    Bryant has been writing lovely messages about her late husband and daughter on various milestone days since their deaths, posting several times Monday.

    She provided various captions to photos of her departed daughter, who is pictured alongside her sisters and of course, mom. 

    ‘Happy 17th birthday, baby girl,’ Bryant wrote on Instagram. ‘I love you and miss you so much, sweet Angel.’

    A photo of Gigi and her sisters was captioned; ‘Happy birthday, sweet Gigi! We love you to the moon and back infinity +1. Forever & Always. 

    ‘Te Amo Mambacita,’ Bryant wrote alongside a photo of the Bryant women. ‘Happy birthday, baby girl.’ 

    Bryant joined former Lakers big man Pau Gasol at the Crypto.com Arena in March – the first time she had been back to the arena since her husband’s memorial – as the Spaniard’s jersey was raised into the rafters. 

    She also made an appearance at the NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, the month prior to present Chris Paul with the first-ever Kobe and Gigi Bryant Advocacy Award.

    Paul was honored ‘for his significant contributions to the advancement of girls’ and women’s basketball, and advocacy for the WNBA,’ the WNBA said in a news release at the time.
