Liverpool stars taking part in a video of EA FC24 forfeits descended into typically hilarious fashion.

Diogo Jota was a surprising absentee from the challenge despite his obvious love for the game but that’s not the only reason he’d be unhappy watching his teammates back.

The Portuguese international has competed in esports tournaments and whipped out gaming celebrations after scoring at Anfield.

But Jota was sidelined for Liverpool’s FC24 forfeits video, with Ryan Gravenberch teaming up with Darwin Nunez to face Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Things went from bad to worse for the former Wolves star when he later suffered a cheeky dig from one of his new teammates.

Presenter Nubaid Haroon confirmed that Jota was the best player at Liverpool when Szoboszlai barged in to clarify just at FC24.

The 23-year-old Hungarian replied: “To play? Ah, okay,” much to the amusement of his colleagues.

The video involved the quartet playing a game of FC24 against each other while answering questions on their teammates’ in-game stats and doing punishments for the ones they got wrong.

Darwin Nunez had a brief insight into what it would be like to be Alisson after incorrectly guessing Mohamed Salah was one of the strongest.

The Uruguayan was hilariously told he was in the top three instead and reacted by flexing his bicep for Gravenberch.

Nunez’s punishment was to continue playing while sporting goalkeeper gloves.

Liverpool’s No.9 seemed more than up for the task, clapping his gloved hands and saying ‘Let’s go Ali’.

However, Nunez, who has four goals in 11 appearances in all competitions this term, showed he doesn’t have a future keeping the ball out of the net as he struggled to click the buttons in the bulky mitts.

Meanwhile, the team of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai demonstrated their understanding of Klopp-ball after falling a goal behind in-game.

World Cup winner Mac Allister was forced to sub off his virtual self but the substitution proved inspired as the former Brighton man joked his axing was ‘good for the team’.

Liverpool, who have fallen behind early in 58 per cent of their matches this season, witnessed another comeback as Mac Allister and Szoboszlai came storming back to win 3-1.

And fans were left in hysterics, as one commented: “Dom and Macca went 1-0 down and won 3-1. They really have memorized our tactics.”

Another said: “Dom and Macca really took Klopp’s tactics personally. Go one goal down, make your opponents think they are Winning and shower them with 3GS.”

A third added: “No way Macca and Szobo pulled the 3-1 comeback!”
