Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis carted off the field with GRUESOME leg injury via a hip drop tackle… the same technique that injured Ravens TE Mark Andrews

Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis was carted off the field in a game against North Alabama after suffering what appears to be a serious foot injury.
Travis was scrambling for a gain when he was hit by linebacker Shaun Myers – who executed what is known as a hip-drop tackle.
Myers’ body weight landed directly on top of Travis’s foot, snapping it to the side and leaving the quarterback in immediate pain.
Travis instantly motioned to the sidelines for help and the game was temporarily halted.
The quarterback was carted off the field and backup Tate Rodemaker stepped in to replace him.

The hip-drop tackle has been receiving greater scrutiny in recent days – especially after Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was injured on the first drive of a Thursday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Andrews was tackled by Logan Wilson – who executed said hip-drop maneuver and landed right on the Baltimore tight end’s foot.
A hip-drop tackle is a technique where a defender wraps their arms on a ball carrier and then swings their weight around and falling onto the leg of their opponent.
By landing ones entire body weight onto the leg, the rate of serious knee, ankle, and foot injuries increases.
The tackle has not been banned at either the college or the pro level, but more and more players and coaches – including Ravens coach John Harbaugh – have been asking the NFL and the NCAA to review eliminating it from the sport.
