The first pets get star billing on the new 2024 White House Easter eggs rolled out today.

In advance of the White House Easter Egg Roll on April 1, the White House Historical Association debuted its annual collection and a special gold egg to commemorate the event.

One package up for sale features five colored wooden eggs.

“The orange, pink, green, and purple eggs feature a rabbit reading among Easter eggs. The backside of these eggs depicts the south side of the White House with Easter eggs and signatures of President Biden and Dr. Biden,” said the association.

A fifth egg in the set, the “Biden Blue” egg,” said the group, “features dog Commander and cat Willow (the First Pets) enjoying their own favorite books. The backside depicts the south side of the White House with paw prints and the names of Willow and Commander. This set comes in a gift box with cut-out windows revealing each color.”

Recently, Commander was banished due to repeated biting attacks on presidential security.

The association, which documents the history of the presidential mansion and raises funds for renovations, also debuted a golden egg sold separately. It is larger and shows the Easter Bunny.

“The White House Easter Egg Roll has been an American tradition for more than 145 years,” said Stewart McLaurin, president of the association. “Each year, these wooden eggs become a part of that tradition and a piece of White House history,” he added.
