First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for Covid-19, her spokesperson said Tuesday.

“After testing negative for Covid-19 on Monday during her regular testing cadence, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms late in the evening. She tested negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,” Elizabeth Alexander, her communications director, said in a statement.

The first lady is double vaccinated and has been boosted twice. She is taking Paxlovid, Pfizer’s antiviral drug, according to Alexander, who told CNN that Biden received her second booster shot in April.

A person close to the first lady, 71, told CNN Tuesday morning that Jill Biden is “feeling good” and has “common cold”-like symptoms.

Biden tested positive while vacationing in South Carolina with her family, including President Biden.

The White House added that President Biden had tested negative for COVID-19 Tuesday morning, but would wear a mask for 10 days when indoors and around others due to his being a close contact of his wife.
