BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – THE NEXT 24 HOURS: The last advisory for Delta was issued earlier this evening. The system is now a post-tropical low and will continue rotating across the state overnight and into tomorrow. Bands of tropical downpours continue to develop and push east across the state tonight. There were numerous tornado warnings and some spotter reports from Georgia today. The tornado activity really ramped up as the outer bands from Delta crossed out of Alabama. The tornado risk has ended for our area and for the remainder of the night, you can expect breezy conditions, with areas of rain.

The center of Delta will move east of our area tomorrow, but the circulation center will continue to bring clouds and a few showers during the day. If you plan on cleaning up the leaves left behind from the rainy day, you’ll catch some break. However, it’s still going to be a bit too damp for mowing the lawn.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT WEEK: We will be tracking another cold front that will bring changes on Monday. As the remnants of Delta move east, the front will bring a chance for a few showers Monday afternoon, with drier air arriving Monday night. You can expect beautiful-sunny weather for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with highs in the low 80s, and lows in the 50s. Another cold front will bring the cooler fall-feel next weekend, with a First Alert for the possibility of lows back in the 40s. I’ll have updates for you this evening at 9, 9:30 and 10 p.m. on WBRC Fox6.
