Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek is in concussion protocol after taking a massive hit from Minnesota’s Ryan Reeves Wednesday. Hronek’s night came to a very early end, as he was out on only his second shift of the game when Reeves laid him out. It’s an awful blow for the player and the team, as Hronek has been having a fantastic campaign with 24 points in 29 games. He also eats up nearly 22 minutes of ice time per game, so there’s about to be a huge gap on the Detroit blue line if Hronek isn’t able to make a quick return.
