More than 1,000 items have been collected by staff from the human resources and payroll team at Willenhall-based ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland.
The company, which has supported the campaign for the fifth year in a row, filled 25 boxes to help families, couples, and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet.
Speaking on behalf of the firm, Wendy Weston said: “With the difficulties faced by so many local families this year, we are proud to be supporting the Express & Star Feed a Family campaign for the fifth year running.
This campaign means a lot to our colleagues, who all come together to support the appeal.
“This year, as with every year, we are extremely pleased with the support and donations from our colleagues for this worthy cause.”
We are asking our generous readers to support the work of food banks and other charities who are helping across the Black Country and Staffordshire to provide a vital lifeline in our communities.
This year they are seeing increased numbers of people seeking for assistance as result of the pandemic and job losses.
This Christmas, we are asking people to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries to the organisations supporting those in need directly by using their established collection points, which are listed on this page.
One of the organisations helping families and individuals who are struggling is Bloxwich and Blakenall Food Bank, which urgently needs donations of tinned fruit, tea bags, long-life milk and breakfast cereals.
