Middle-order batsman, Fawad Alam, might only be playing his 8th Test match currently, but he is a veteran in the domestic circuit, having played over 170 First-Class matches.

Fawad’s comeback to the national team has been remarkable. He scored a century against New Zealand in New Zealand and has completed another ton against South Africa in the first Test match at National Stadium Karachi.

This is Fawad’s first Test match at his home ground in Karachi, and he is making it count. His record at the venue is exceptional in domestic cricket. He has scored over 2000 runs at National Stadium Karachi at an astonishing average of 68.8.

His last ten First-Class matches at this ground have been excellent as well. He has scored over 1,067 runs at an average of 106.7, including two double centuries and four centuries.

Fawad’s average of 84.44* (including his current innings) at National Stadium Karachi is the highest among the players who have scored over 1,500 runs at a single venue. There have been 180 players in the last ten years who have scored over 1,500 runs at a particular venue.

Fawad’s persistence and determination are finally paying off, and after a gap of 10 years, he seems to have cemented his place in the national Test line-up. The 35-year old will be looking to fully utilize the opportunity which he has worked so hard for.
