Nebraska’s Scott Frost is likely coaching for his life in 2022 after a 3-9 finish last fall. With his job potentially at stake, this wasn’t the best start.

The Cornhuskers looked good at moments during Saturday’s season-opening 31-28 loss to Northwestern in Ireland, but mistakes ultimately cost them a victory in a Week 0 matchup that proved to be significantly more exciting than anyone expected.

Both teams went 3-9 last fall, and Nebraska’s lone win in the Big Ten came against the Wildcats. Now, the outlook looks suddenly bleak in Lincoln. Following an embattled offseason for Frost, fans let him have it after his team’s disappointing start.

True at the same time, in my opinion:

1: Nebraska could still make a bowl, 2022 could all be OK, and Scott Frost could survive

2: They are well within their rights to leave him in Dublin and padlock his office

3: They won’t, and this is probably not his last backbreaking L
