Fans dub traitor Wilf ‘the ultimate predator’ as he sobs after backstabbing twist

Fans of The Traitors have dubbed traitor Wilfred Webster as “the ultimate predator” as he sobbed after betraying his fellow traitor Amanda Lovett.

Last night’s episode (December 20) saw Amanda banished from the castle after losing the round table vote, with Wilf seemingly throwing her under the bus.

Leading up to the vote Wilf had turned on his fellow traitor, spending the day convincing the faithfuls to vote Amanda out, telling them: “I’m not sure about Amanda, she dropped Theo like a piece of s***.”

At at the round table discussion his decision to stab Amanda in the back became even clearer as he told the group: “Amanda was on my mind because of the Theo thing.”

As the remaining contestants revealed who they were voting for, the vote was split between Amanda and Maddy Smedley, with Wilf casting the final vote and sending Amanda home.

Explaining his decision Wilf broke down in tears as he said: “I don’t trust her. I just kept thinking I haven’t built any relationship with her.”

He then opted to attempt to recruit one of the faithfuls into joining him, choosing to send the letter to Kieran Tompsett.

Fans will have to wait until tonight’s episode to see if Kieran accepts his offer in their face-to-face meeting, or decides to leave the show.

Watching the dramatic scenes unfold, fans took to social media to discuss Wilf’s betrayal, with one viewer tweeting: “Wilf is the ultimate predator! He’s definitely in it for the money” followed by a number of snake emojis.

Another wrote: “WILF!. Even Judas did not betray Jesus like this” while a third added: “Wilf Is the snakiest snake [laughing emoji] he panics and thinks people are turning on him when they definitely wouldn’t have like with Alyssa.”

Others argued that Wilf may have made the wrong decision, suggesting that he needed Amanda to triumph. They wrote: “Oh Wilf, you’ve sentenced yourself to lose the game. You need Amanda to win.”

And another added: “I think Wilf is dead without Amanda ironically.”

This wasn’t the first time Wilf had turned on a fellow traitor, having previously thrown Alyssa Chan under the bus too.

Speaking exclusive to OK! following her banishment from the show, Alyssa discussed the traitors turning on one another.

She said: “I knew Traitor vs Traitor was going to come at some point, but I thought it’d be later on in the game just because we were doing quite well.

“And, you know, I wasn’t going to be first one to throw the punch. But it was shocking – you can see it on my face. I didn’t know who [Wilf] was going to come out with, but my name was the last name I thought was coming and I was genuinely blindsided.

“It was quite hurtful too because of the way he did it – he went in strong.”
