Fans dig up Jack Grealish’s old pro-Manchester United and anti-Man City tweets ahead of FA Cup final

Jack Grealish will be hoping he can lift the FA Cup for the first time in his career with Manchester City on Saturday.

But just over ten years ago, the winger was regularly tweeting his support for the very team his side will face at Wembley, Manchester United – and Red Devils fans have made sure to dig those posts up ahead of the game.

The red and blue sides of Manchester will face off in a major final for the first time ever on Saturday – live on talkSPORT – and Grealish will be hoping to play a part in helping City take a step towards winning the treble.

Born and bred in Birmingham, the England international spent his entire career at Aston Villa before sealing a £100million move to City in 2021.

But while he loves the Villans, the now-27-year-old grew up during a time when City’s rivals Man United dominated domestic competitions and he evidently had a soft spot for them.

Clearly preparing to watch the iconic Premier League title race in 2012 which ended in Sergio Aguero scoring a dramatic last minute goal to snatch the title out of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side’s hands, Grealish tweeted his support for the Red Devils.

“Football is on!” a young Grealish wrote.

“Please united win and city lose, I cannot watch city win the league lol, come on the villa aswell!!”

Red Devils fans have plenty of other tweets written by the two-time Premier League winner, too.

Another tweet said: “Love listening to drake while going sleep 🙂 Off to sleep for abit then up for the united game tonight #RedDevils !!”

And before Man United eventually lost the title race in 2012 Grealish also wrote: “On route to training, finally im back training n the suns shining, absolutely BUZZING for the game tonight.

“Come on u reds #United”

If only Grealish of 2012 could see him now…
