NOTTINGHAM FOREST defender Steve Cook somehow avoided a red card for a blatant handball to deny Tottenham’s Harry Kane from scoring.
The ex-Bournemouth centre-back rose highest in the six-yard box to stop Kane from scoring his second of the match as he parried the ball away.

And after VAR intervention, he was still only awarded a yellow card despite denying what would have been a certain goal in the 53rd minute.
To make matters worse for Spurs, Kane ended up missing his penalty after his spot-kick was brilliantly saved by Dean Henderson.
Cook is no stranger in auditioning to become a goalkeeper having remarkably kept out a Teemu Pukki effort during Norwich’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth in January 2020.
Though the 31-year-old was sent off for that incident at Carrow Road.
But fans were left shocked Cook didn’t see red this time, as one Twitter user said: “That is the most blatant red card ever. How is Steve Cook still on the pitch?”
Another remarked: “Some save, that. And a hilariously bad VAR call not to make it a red card.”
A third added: “Can someone explain why Cook wasn’t awarded a red card for the Kane pen?”
And ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton stated: “That’s a red card… why is Cook still on?”

This fan quipped: “Steve Cook deserves a red card for how stupid he is.”
Another messaged: “I’ll like to know why it’s not a red card for Steve Cook.”
Meanwhile this supporter commented: “Not being funny but that’s a stone wall red card for Cook.”
One then simply stated: “Most blatant red card ever.”
Kane wasn’t to be denied for long as he doubled his tally for the match in the 81st minute after heading home a delicious Richarlison cross.
